Rioja, the historical wine region of Spain, profoundly influenced by France is the epitome of Tempranillo. This grape, the Spanish counterpart of the Cabernet Sauvignon in the Bordeaux cultivations, has small, thick skinned grapes which give the wine a deep colour.

Viña Ijalba, the largest vineyard producing organically, represents a new style expressed by their wines’ fresh and fruity taste, intensive colour and well balanced acidity.
In the ancient rocky quarries around Logroño Vina Ijalba is pressing its grapes which are clean, soft and age excellently.

In this wine of deep red colour, mulberry and elderberry, but also spices (especially laurel) can be tasted. A wine with a profound taste, rich body and beautifully balanced acidity and tannin, for which we recommend decanting.

Goes especially well with rich and spicy food, red meat, venison, mushrooms, as well as to Merguez, vegetable gratins, Paella and Risotto.
